tuank asked: How would you know if we added three subscriptions?

Since we didn’t get to use Jing this semester, I’ll just check this in class.

Task 5

From Gmail, click on “Documents”.

Click on “Create New”, then “Document”.

1. Click here to change the name of the document to “Task 5”.

2. Type what is shown here, using your real name.

Click “Share”, then “Email as attachment”.

1. Change the attachment type to “Microsoft Word”.

2. Enter my email address.

3. Type “Task 5” in the subject field.

4. Click “Send”.

Thant’s it!

chinked asked: Why are you so cool

That’s actually the final question on the final.

Just kidding.

It’s the only question on the final.

Task Four

Google Reader will let you subscribe to blogs and other types of web content so you can view posts in one place rather than visiting each site to look for new updates.

From Gmail, click on “Reader” at the top left to access Google Reader

Next, click on “Add a subscription”.

Type in either the name of a blog you would like to follow or a topic that interests you.

The main window will display search results based on what you typed, along with the number of subscribers each feed has (which can help you pick popular and hopefully well-made sites). After choosing one of these sites, click the “Subscribe” button.

Do this for three different feeds.

That’s it.

Email me if you need help.

Task Three

  1. Customize your tumblr by adding an avatar.
  2. Tell me your real name using tumblr’s “ask” feature, so I know who is who.
  3. Follow all of your classmates.

Email me with any questions.

NO CLASS TONIGHT

Hi everyone.

I got extraordinarily sick this weekend. So no class tonight. I’ll post more this week upon recovering.

See you all next week.

Tasks

So here is how the tasks will break down for the semester:

There will be 8 tasks total.

Each is worth 10 points.

I’ll announce them as they come. That will give me the flexibility to choose tasks that are appropriate for where we are as a class.

All points will be added up in Week 7 to give you a chance to fill any gaps.

I will make a grade sheet in BlackBoard to help you keep track of your grade.
